For Teachers: Coding Lesson Plans

Did you know that coding in the classroom is linked to improved problem solving and analytical reasoning? Coding is a new type of literacy that improves educational equity and STEM proficiency. If you were looking for ideas to help you introduce coding in your classroom, you found them.

These lesson plans were created by teachers who participated in the online course ‘How to Teach Computing: An Introduction to Concepts, Tools and Resources for Secondary Teachers' delivered by the European Schoolnet Academy, which was supported by the Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs.

The lesson plans were prepared in the context of the Hour of Code in 2014. Teachers were asked to prepare a lesson plan for their own hour of code lesson or a series of lessons addressing coding related areas and make use of the tools and resources introduced on the course.

The lesson plans are relevant to teachers from a variety of subjects and different levels of experience.
